Supporting the Changed Up! Now What? Movement enables us to provide continued support to the community on a full time basis with the concentration upon our youth. Being that there are so many different needs we have decided to teach on relationships starting with our younger audience. Every time a person donates to our cause, you help to equip us with the means to teach our youth on a full time basis!
According to the American Journal of Preventative Medicine, a surplus of teens deal with different forms of abuse inside of their relationships (click here for more on this topic https://www.ajpmonline.org/article/S0749-3797(19)30147-3/fulltext the CDC breaks it down as follows. 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys fell victim to sexual assault https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/childsexualabuse/fastfact.html Stalking, rape and physical abuse leads teenagers into suicidal tendencies and depression. These reports often remain silent due to the victim feeling ashamed, not knowing where to turn or feeling as if no one will believe them. Imagine how many rape and abuse stories could be prevented if they knew how to look out for the reg flags beforehand.
We are seeking sponsorships and donations to help flatten the curve of this situation. Our first mission is to reach 101 students in certain underprivileged areas starting with Georgia. We will offer them an 8 week preventative course and educate them for the sake of their safety. There are a lot of agencies that support the aftermath of a victims experience but here, we would prefer assisting the youth before it gets to this point.
Donate today and we will keep you informed on the results of your support. We will give you periodic updates on the youth we have served that otherwise could not afford it. Each student that signs up will not only be given an 8 week preventative course, but they will receive a copy of our dating book (with permission from their parents of course) and they will also receive physical materials on emergency organizations that will further assist them if a crisis were to occur. The male students will learn how to speak up if they were to witness a potential assault, how rape affects a person, and the importance of the word “no”. Our female students will learn the importance of creating a buddy system, how to look out for potential dangers while dating and where they can find further support if needed. Lastly, we will educate their parents on how they too can help prevent compromising situations by assessing their home environments and the company that they keep around their children. The less stories we hear about a person becoming a victim the better!
Thank you in advance for your continued support and sponsorships!
